Suns Baseball Sweeps Eastfield

The CVC Baseball Team claimed their second Metro Athletic Conference series sweep of the year after defeating the Eastfield Harvesters in a three-game slate. The Suns finish 5-1 in their season series with the Harvesters

After taking game one, CVC was able to hold off a late rally by EFC and seal a 6-5 victory in game two. Daniel Quintanilla hit a home run, driving in two runs, with Tylor Frailey adding two runs as well. Austin Nicholson locked down the win from the mound.

In game three, the Suns closed out the series in stunning fashion, routing the Harvesters, 10-3. Falling behind 3-1 going into the bottom of the third inning, CVC exploded for seven runs and added two more runs in the following inning to cruise to victory.

Quintanilla homered in his second straight game, bringing his home runs total to three on the season.

Five Suns registered at least two hits and Frailey, J.J. Veloz Jr., and Alex Rivera each turned in two runs. Alex Garcia went eight innings from the bump, totaling four strikeouts to earn the win.

The Suns return to action on Monday, when they host Texas Wesleyan University (J.V.).
