With about a month left in the regular season, the CVC Baseball Team will prepare for their second go-round with Dallas Athletic Conference leaders, the North Lake Blazers this week. The three-game set will begin on Wednesday and conclude on Saturday before the Easter holiday.
The Suns are winners of their last two games and have been victorious in eight of their last nine outings. On Monday, CVC swept Southwest Collegiate Prep in an afternoon doubleheader, where Jose Castillo finished with seven runs, seven hits in eight at-bats, three RBIs, and a home run. Jacob Rothenberg tossed five strikeouts in game one earning the win.
NLC enters their series with Cedar Valley coming off of a three-game sweep against Richland. The Blazers are 18-3 in DAC play.
In their first meeting this season, North Lake swept the Suns and held CVC to only seven runs in the entire three-game set.
