DALLAS -- Dallas College Cedar Valley's baseball team swept a doubleheader at Dallas Christian College Junior Varsity Monday, winning 18-0 in five innings and 15-2 in six.

The Suns won all four games against the Crusaders this season – the first two coming in the season opener Feb. 10, also at DCC.

The 18-0 win in the opener marked the third shutout of the season, all of which have come on the road. Two of those shutouts were 18-0 verdicts.

Cedar Valley scored 10 runs in the third inning in the opener to build a 16-0 lead in a game the Suns were never tested.

The Suns pounded 19 hits to the Crusaders' four. Five of Cedar Valley's hits were two-baggers. It was the sixth time this season the Suns have had at least five doubles in a game.

Ryan Talley was 4-for-4 with a double and four runs batted in. Antonio Sabala went 3-for-3 with three stolen bases. Blaine Thomas was 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI and two stolen bases. Rece Houghton improved to 6-1 on the mound, allowing two hits and no walks in the first three innings of the combined shutout. Leonardo De La Garza Jr. pitched the final two innings, giving up two hits and a walk, and recorded two strikeouts.

In the second game, Cedar Valley scored four runs in the fifth to extend its lead to 9-1. After Dallas Christian picked up one in the bottom of the fifth, the Suns pushed six runs across in their next at-bat to put the game away.

Cedar Valley outhit Dallas Christian, 14-7, in the nightcap.

Davis went 3-for-3 with a walk, two RBI and two stolen bases. Brewer was 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and three stolen bases. Williams was 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases. Elian Gonzales went 2-for-5 with three RBI. Thomas was 2-for-3 with a walk. Daniel Brandon III had a two-run home run.

Brewer's home run was his first this season, while Brandon III hit his third.

Suns starter Austin Brown worked the first two innings, allowing four hits, a run and a walk, and had two strikeouts. Caleb Pacheco (9-1) gave up three hits, a run and no walks, and struck out four to earn the win in middle relief. Jeremiah Darrough worked the final inning, allowing just a walk, while striking out two.
