Evans, Humber, and Stewart Receive All-MAC Honors

Jordan Evans, KeAunte Humber, and Eric Stewart as released by the Metro Athletic Conference have received All-Conference recognition. Evans was named the Metro Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, along with being a 1st Team All-Conference MAC selection, while Humber and Thomas were 3rd Team All-Conference MAC selection.

In his first year at Cedar Valley, Jordan Evans led the Suns in scoring with 17.5 points per game, enough for second place in all of the Metro Athletic Conference. The Waco native had 10 games where he went over 20 points, three of those were 30+ point outings. Evans was named the NJCAA DIII Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the Metro Athletic Conference for his January 30 showcase, where he notched 31 points, shooting 13-22 from the field, in a upset of the nationally ranked Eastfield College Harvesters.

KeAunte Humber was a rebounding machine for the Suns, averaging 7.6 per game ranking fourth in the MAC. Humber had eight games where he went over 10+ rebounds, including a 16 rebound effort against Brookhaven in February. The sophomore also also turned in five double-doubles on the season.

Eric Stewart's hot shooting was on display all season, shooting for a scorching 45.3% from beyond the arc, ranking second in the MAC. Stewart was second on CVC in scoring turning in 10.5 points per game. The Mansfield native had four performances where he went over 20+ points, including a 29 points outing against Angelina College.

"Our record doesn't indicate the successes we obtained throughout the 2015-16 campaign of Sun Basketball" says Head Coach Cedric Jones. "I would like to thank the players for their support and buying in to our system. We battled nightly against great competition. As the season moved into conference play, our players had bought in to the system and really showed their fight each night in every contest. As a result of the hard work and perseverance, three players were nominated to the All-Conference Team."
