Booker, Hawkins, Horner to be Honored on Sophomore Day vs. No. 10 Eastfield

The CVC Suns Basketball Team will play their final regular season game this Saturday when they host the No. 10 Eastfield Harvesters on "Sophomore Day". Cedar Valley will honor sophomores Xavious Booker, Alphonso Hawkins, and Ronnie Horner prior to tipoff.

CVC enter's their clash against Eastfield after falling to Mountain View on Wednesday night, 103-92. Hawkins led all scorers with 24 points in the loss.

*Shining Sophomores*

Xavious Booker (Irving, TX) - In his lone season with CVC, Booker has been solid from behind the three-point line with a shooting average of 42%. His highest scoring outings have been 16 points against Jarvis Christian (JV) in November and 15 points against North Lake, last week.

Alphonso Hawkins (Killeen, TX) - After playing a reserve role for much of his freshman year, Hawkins has been stellar in his second season at CVC. The Killeen native is averaging career highs across the board with 15.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.3 assists and is third in the NJCAA in three-point shooting at 53.1%. This season, "Hawk" had a career-high 26 points in a win over the Dallas Diesel.

Ronnie Horner (Forney, TX) - Horner has had multiple double-figure outings in his only season at CVC with his career high being a 16 point showing against CYM Academy. So far this year, the North Forney graduate is averaging 6.4 ppg, 3.2 rpg, and shooting 39.1% from behind the arc. 

In the last meeting between CVC and EFC, Cedar Valley was defeated 112-77. Larry Rusk Jr. had a game-high 23 points.
