Hawkins, Rusk, DeGraftenreed lead Suns in All-DAC/Region V Honors

Alphonso Hawkins, Larry Rusk Jr., William DeGraftenreed III, Xavious Booker, and Ronnie Horner as released by the Dallas Athletic Conference/Region V office have received All-Dallas Athletic Conference/Region V honors. Hawkins was selected to the First Team and was named Most Improved Player, Rusk was selected to the Second Team, Degraftenreed garnered Third Team honors, while Booker and Horner were tabbed as Honorable Mentions.

In his second season at CVC, Alphonso Hawkins averaged 15.6 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, and shot 52.6% from behind the three-point line. Hawkins had five games where he scored at least 20 points including his 26 points career-high against the Dallas Diesel where he drained six of nine three-pointers in a Cedar Valley victory.

Debuting this year for Cedar Valley, Larry Rusk Jr. led the Suns in scoring (18.8 ppg), assists (8.0 apg), rebounds (7.9 rpg), and steals (4.7 spg). Rusk engineered seven triple-doubles during the season and was named Dallas Athletic Conference Player of the Week twice.

William DeGraftenreed III was third in scoring for the Suns this season averaging 9.3 ppg and fourth in rebounds with 5.1 rpg. DeGrafteenreed posted a career-high 23 points against Mountain View. 

Honorable mentions, Xavious Booker and Ronnie Horner were mainstays in the Suns' rotation with Booker averaging 5.2 ppg, 2.5 apg, and 1.9 rpg, while Horner posted 6.8 ppg, 3.5 rpg, and shot 42% from behind the arc.
