Men's Hoops Nabs Third Win in 4 Games, Host CYM Thursday

Isaiah Sobers had 20 points on Tuesday night in Dallas College Cedar Valley's win over Arkansas Cossatot.

LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's men's basketball team beat the University of Arkansas Cossatot, 94-86, Tuesday.

It was the Suns' second win in as many days, and it marked their third in the past four games.

Isaiah Sobers finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Antonio Freeman had 19 points on 8 of 10 shooting and four steals. Alonnie Carter scored 14 points, going 6 of 10 from the field, and had four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Jude Donovan had 12 points, four rebounds, a block and a steal.

The Suns shot 32 of 66 from the floor, and were 7 of 19 from three-point range. They sank 23 of 35 free throws. Cedar Valley, which improved to 6-9 overall, had 18 assists, including five from Isaiah Brass, who also scored 11 points.

Cedar Valley scored 47 points in each half, while Cossatot put up 43 points in both halves.

The Suns will host Creating Young Minds 6 p.m. Thursday in the third and final game of the homestand this week. Following a road game against Paul Quinn College Junior Varsity Tuesday, the Suns begin Dallas Athletic Conference play 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at Dallas College Eastfield.
