Suns Dot All-DAC Teams with 7 Awards
Dallas College Cedar Valley men's basketball team was represented by seven players who earned All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors, including Second Team selections Antonio Freeman and Isaiah Brass.
Malik Conley, Alonnie Carter, Jude Donovan, Isaiah Sobers and Keelan Russell each earned Honorable Mention All-DAC recognition.
A freshman forward from Houston, Freeman averaged 10.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and one steal per game, while shooting 53.6 percent from the floor, 41.9 percent from three-point range and 75.4 percent from the free throw line. He scored in double figures in 15 games, including 10 in a row. Freeman had a season-high 26 points at Dallas College Brookhaven Feb. 6, and had 20 or more twice.
A sophomore guard from Grand Prairie, Texas, Brass averaged 11.9 points and 1.4 steals, and shot 46.6 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from the 3-point line. He scored in double digits in 15 games, with a career-high 34 in a win over Dallas College Mountain View Jan. 28. Brass topped 20 points in four games.
A freshman forward from Milwaukee, Conley averaged 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds, while shooting 42.7 percent from the floor and 70.6 percent from the free throw stripe. He reached double figures in scoring in 11 games, including a season-high 21 in a win over Brookhaven to end the regular season. Conley scored in double figures in three straight games on two occasions this season.
A sophomore guard from Copperas Cove, Texas, Carter averaged 8.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals. He had a 42.1 percent field goal percentage, while shooting 85.4 percent from the stripe. Carter scored in double figures in seven games, including the last four. He had a season-best 19 at Brookhaven Feb. 6.
A freshman forward from Dripping Springs, Texas, Donovan averaged 8.4 points, four rebounds and 1.1 blocks, and shot 43.3 percent from the field and 79.3 percent from the free throw line. He reached double figures in 11 games, scoring a season-high 19 points twice. Donovan had a four-game stretch in which he scored in double digits.
A sophomore guard from Copperas Cove, Sobers averaged 13.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals. He had a 70 percent free throw shooting norm. Sobers scored in double figures in 23 games, including 18 straight to begin the season. He had 20 or more points in five games, including a season-high 27 at Dallas College Eastfield Nov. 16.
A freshman guard from Duncanville, Texas, Russell averaged 2.4 points and 2.8 assists per game, while shooting 53.7 percent from the field and 70.6 percent from the free throw line.
