High Expectations and Excitement for Inaugural Women's Basketball Season

High Expectations and Excitement for Inaugural Women's Basketball Season
The 2018-2019 season will mark the beginning of a new era for Cedar Valley College Athletics with the addition of the CVC Lady Suns Basketball Team. This year will be the first time in school history that a Women's Basketball Team has been fielded at CVC.

Leading the newly birthed program will be Senior Head Coach, Anthony Brown. Coach Brown has spent the past few years as the lead assistant for the Suns' Basketball Team and feels honored to be a part of such a historic moment. "It's a privilege to come into any college in the country, especially Cedar Valley and be able to lead a program in their first season ever," says Brown.

Coach Brown knows the inaugural season for the Lady Suns will have its ups and downs with a very competitive schedule ahead, with that in mind he hit the recruiting trail hard signing talented student-athletes who competed for great programs in the state of Texas and had high character.

Despite this being the first year for the Lady Suns, Coach Brown has NJCAA National Tournament expectations and believes he has the roster to do so."I told the team if we're able to run our game plan and do the things we know we can do and live up to the tradition of Cedar Valley College, we'll be able to compete with anyone in the country," said Coach Brown.

Players who are expected to make an instant impact include:
Kaylyn Cunningham - Lamar HS/Arlington, TX
Jaidyn Johnson - Guyer HS/Denton, TX
Trysten Mosley - All Saints Episcopal/Tyler, TX
Tylisea Roundtree - Madisonville HS/Madisonville, TX
