Lady Suns Volleyball Add Four to 2016 Recruiting Class

The Cedar Valley Lady Suns Volleyball Team, announced the signing of four players to be added to the 2016 recruiting class.

"With three returning freshman, these four new student-athletes will go a long way filling our 2016 roster. We've got length coming in, which is great. A couple of them are versatile players that will be able to do a lot of different things for us if needed" says Head Volleyball Coach Isabel Almendarez

Additions to this year's recruiting class include Cali Odom (Midway HS/Waco, TX), Michelle Ordonez (Spring Woods HS/Houston, TX), Christian Wilson (Dickinson HS/Dickinson, TX), and Tezyana Wrice (Paris HS/Paris, TX).

Cali Odom, a Minnesota transplant who finished her prep career at Midway High School, played for Head Coach Ryan Porter. During her time with the Lady Panthers, Odom finished the season with a .161 hitting percentage. helping her team to the UIL Regional Semifinals with an overall record 36-8.

"Cali is an enthusiastic competitor and a very solid blocker. We can't wait to get her in the gym and develop her talents." - Head Coach Isabel Almendarez

Michelle Ordonez, played for Head Coach Rebecca Campbell at Spring Woods High School, where she was named 2015-2016 Offensive Player of the Year, as well being named a 1st Team All-District selection.

"Michelle personality and court presence is so contagious that it can't help but make our program better. I am confident in her ability to bring those same characteristics out of her teammates." - Head Coach Isabel Almendarez

Christian Wilson, is a defensive specialist from Dickinson High School, who was led by Head Coach Mitzi Matthews.

"Christian is going to get a great learning opportunity under our returning defensive specialists. She has great quickness and somebody that will come in and help our team." - Head Coach Isabel Almendarez

Tezyana Wrice, from Paris High School coached by Donya Mooney, was a All-District Academic First Team selection, along with being named All-District Honorable Mention.

"Tezyana has the size, athleticism, and such a positive attitude. Her commitment to working hard to improve every day and attitude was something that drew me to her. We are looking forward to having her presence in our program." - Head Coach Isabel Almendarez
