Lady Suns Advance to MAC Semi-Finals After Defeating Richland, 3-1
The CVC Volleyball Team advanced to the semi-final round of the Metro Athletic Conference Tournament after defeating the Richland Thunderducks, 3-1 on Wednesday night. Mallorie Brooks turned in 22 kills, 18 digs, and three blocks in the win for the Lady Suns.
Miranda Solis had a big night dishing out 43 assists and 14 digs on her way to a double-double. Sarah Carrola had a team-high 23 digs and chipped in six assists.
Brenda Duran also had a double-double with 10 kills and 19 digs, with Christian Wilson adding 21 digs for Cedar Valley.
Sophomore Cali Odom contributed with a stat-stuffing six kills, four blocks, three service aces, and nine digs.
The Lady Suns will face nationally ranked, No. 2 Eastfield in the next round of the MAC Tournament on Friday evening.
