Duran, Brooks, Odom Garner All-MAC/Region V Accolades
Fresh off an appearance in the Metro Athletic Conference Tournament Semi-Finals, the CVC Volleyball Team's own Brenda Duran, Mallorie Brooks, Cali Odom, Sarah Carrola, Miranda Solis, and Christian Wilson receive All-Metro Athletic Conference/Region V recognition as released by the office.
 
Sophomore outside hitter Brenda Duran was named to the All-MAC/Region V First Team. This is the second straight season Duran has earned All-MAC honors. The Del Rio, TX native competed in every match this season for the Lady Suns compiling 242 kills (2.18 k/s), 391 digs (3.52 d/s), 33 total blocks, and 31 service aces.  
 
Mallorie Brooks made an instant impact for the Lady Suns in her freshman season on her way to All-MAC/Region V Second Team Honors. Brooks lead CVC in kills and kills per set (270/2.62 k/s). She also posted 395 digs (3.83), 25 total blocks, and 12 service aces.
 
In her second consecutive season as an All-MAC/Region V Second Team selection, Cali Odom has continued to be a defensive stalwart for Cedar Valley. Odom has led CVC in solo blocks (11) for the second straight year and led the team this season in total blocks (53) and block assists (40). She also posted season numbers of 196 kills (1.92 k/s), 86 digs (0.84), and 16 service aces.    
 
Sarah Carrola, Miranda Solis, and Christian Wilson earned All-MAC/Region V Honorable Mention distinctions.
 
Carrola was an immediate contributor to the Lady Suns' success in her first season, leading CVC in digs (572) and digs per set (5.40) and added 31 service aces. Carrola finished the season 11th nationally in total digs. 
 
Solis was another essential piece to this years' freshman class, leading CVC in assists (770) and assists per set (7.26 a/s), finishing the season in the top 20 nationally in digs. She also posted a team-high 32 service aces.  
 
Wilson had a career year during her sophomore season for the Lady Suns. Competing in 24 matches, the libero/defensive specialist  amassed 185 digs (1.95) and eight service aces.
