Volleyball Ousted in DAC Semi-Finals in Five Sets by Brookhaven

The CVC Lady Suns Volleyball Team exited the Dallas Athletic Conference Tournament after falling to the Brookhaven Bears in five sets (25-20,25-22,24-26,26-28,12-15). Mallorie Brooks finished the night with 19 kills, 19 digs, and three blocks. "It's difficult to swallow a loss that ended our road to the NJCAA tourney again," said Senior Head Coach, Isabel Almendarez-Ramos. "We've faced many challenges this season that were out of our control and we kept pushing through."

Jasmine Davis and Samantha Hernandez also registered double-doubles, with Davis notching 13 kills and 15 digs and Hernandez adding 29 assists and 14 digs. Amaya Saenz has a team-high 25 digs, while Kayla Lansford chipped in 10 kills and three blocks. 

Coach Almendarez-Ramos is looking forward to the future of Lady Suns Volleyball program. "The team showed growth and every player stepped up when we needed them to play different roles as the season went along; even to the very end. I feel as our freshmen now understand what urgency truly means. It's been an amazing season and it was a great run. I'm extremely proud of them all," says Almendarez-Ramos.

The Lady Suns finish their 2018 campaign with an overall record of 11-23 (7-5 Dallas Athletic Confernece).
