Ben Cross Commits to the Ozarks (AR)

On the diamond, Ben has demonstrated tremendous determination, competitiveness, and leadership. For two consecutive seasons, he was key contributor for our baseball program posting a career .319 Batting Average (BA), .458 On-Base Percentage (OBP), .444 Slugging Percentage (SLG), with 74 Hits, 68 Runs, 10 Doubles, 5 Triples, 3 Home Runs, 42 Runs Batted In (RBI) and with 56 Walks (BB), 7 Hit By Pitch (HBP), and 7 Stolen Bases (SB). His efforts helped our team reach the post season while earning Second Team All-Conference from the Dallas Athletic Conference and was selected to the Texas-New Mexico Junior College Region XIV South All-Star Team.

Academically, Ben supports an overall 3.81 GPA and is scheduled to receive his Associate in Science Degree this May 2020. He plans to pursue his college major in Kinesiology with a minor in Education. Ben's academic accomplishments were recognized by the NJCAA last year with the Third Team All-Academic Award. In addition, he has earned several Dallas Athletic Conference Academic Achievement Awards, is a Phi Theta Kappa member, and participated in our Service-Learning Program.

"Ben joined the SUNS Baseball program as a highly targeted recruit from Sherman High School (Sherman, TX) in the Fall of 2018. Since that time, he has worked systematically on and off the field. Ben was a great teammate and an unselfish player who took on any role for the betterment of the team, He was an incredibly determined and mentally tough competitor."- Coach Dally.

The University of the Ozarks is a four-year institution in Clarksville, Arkansas, that competes in the American Southwest Conference and is NCAA Division III sanctioned.
