Suns Baseball will Battle Dallas Christian in Home Opener Doubleheader

The CVC Baseball Team will have their season home opener this Tuesday, February 14, when they host the Dallas Christian Crusaders (J.V.) in a afternoon doubleheader.

Last week the Suns opened their 2017 campaign going 2-1, sweeping Southwestern University (J.V.) in a two game series (14-4, 7-6) and then falling to Hill College (12-9).

In game one against SWU, Jesus Payan led with a team high three runs and three RBIs, with Shannon Broussard throwing four strikeouts in six innings to clinch the win. In game two against SWU, Alex Rivera led with three hits, three RBIs, and two runs, with Broussard adding two runs as well. Devin Crawford earned the win and Ryder Lognion would be credited with the save. In the loss against Hill, Jesse Mendoza tallied four RBIs and three hits and Rivera added four hits and three RBIs.

The Crusaders compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association.
