Suns Baseball takes Game One vs. Eastfield, 8-7

The CVC Baseball Team earned their first Metro Athletic Conference win of the season, after defeating the Eastfield Harvesters, 8-7 in game one of their MAC series. J.J. Veloz Jr. selaed the victory for CVC with the game winning hit.  

The Suns fell behind early, before taking a 3-2 lead going into the third inning. From there, CVC and EC exchanged leads late into the game.

Coming out of the eighth inning, Eastfield created a 7-6 advantage, but the Suns rallied to close out the game in the bottom of the ninth, scoring two runs to take a 8-7 victory.

Alex Rivera and Jesus Payan led with two runs, while Alex Garcia and J.J. Veloz Jr. each had a team high two RBIs. Veloz Jr. also had four hits, with Garcia turning in three.

In four innings Devin Crawford notched five strikeouts. Geovani Ceballos was awarded the win.

The Suns resume their series with Eastfield this Friday.
