Broussard Tosses Shutout in Suns Baseball 2-0 Win over Mountain View

The CVC Baseball Team were lead by Shannon Broussard's complete-game shutout effort as they defeated the Mountain View Lions, 2-0 in game one of their Metro Athletic Conference series.

Broussard went all nine innings on the mound for the Suns, facing 30 batters, which resulted in seven strikeouts, no runs, and only three hits. The Baytown native improved his record to 5-0 on the season.

To clinch the 2-0 victory, the Suns scored a run in the third and fifth innings.

Jacob Farmer and Jorge Palomo both crossed the plate, with Jesse Mendoza and J.J. Veloz Jr. each registering a RBI. Alex Rivera had a game-high four hits.

CVC and MVC continue their series on Friday at 2:00 p.m. on the campus of Cedar Valley.
