The CVC Baseball Team extended their win streak to seven games after defeating the Texas Wesleyan Rams (J.V.) in doubleheader action on Monday afternoon. The Suns have now surpassed their win margin from the 2016 season.
Game one between CVC and TWU was a pitcher's duel, with CVC squeezing out a 2-1 victory. Elijah Saldana earned the win improving his record to 4-0 on the year, while Austin Nicholson was awarded the save.
J.J. Veloz Jr. finished the game with three hits and two RBIs, with Mason Gay turning in two hits and two runs.
Game two was an offensive explosion for the Suns as they devastated the Rams, 10-2. CVC scored in all but one inning. Ryder Lognion earned the win improving to a 3-1 record this season.
Veloz Jr. had a team-high four hits and three RBIs, while three other Suns tallied at least three hits. Tylor Frailey and Jesse Mendoza each had two runs.
Cedar Valley returns to Metro Athletic Conference play on Wednesday when they begin their series against Richland College.
