Quintanilla, Boaz, Rogers, Totten, and Moore Named to All-MAC Team
Daniel Quintanilla, Ryan Boaz, Billy Rogers, Jamison Totten and Grant Moore, as released by the conference office have all been selected to the All-Metro Athletic Conference Team. Quintanilla received All-MAC First Team honors at designated hitter and was also selected to the All-NJCAA Region V Team and will be nominated for NJCAA All-American consideration.
 
Boaz was named to the All-MAC First Team, while Rogers and Totten earned All-MAC Second Team accolades, and Moore received an All-MAC Honorable Mention nod.    
 
Daniel Quintanilla had a phenomenal 2018 on his way to his second All-MAC selection and was one of the top hitters in the nation with a .412 batting average. Quintanilla also drove in plenty of runs this season with 53 RBIs at the DH position. The Garland native leads the Suns in hits (68), slugging percentage (.570), on-base percentage (.517) and is tied for the lead in runs with 47. He was walked 34 times this season.
 
On the mound this year, Ryan Boaz had 13 appearances and starts and competed in 82 innings pitched. He finished the year with a 3-5 record and had one of the top ERAs in the MAC with 4.83. Boaz tossed 55 strikeouts and had two complete games from the mound.
 
Billy Rogers was one of the many Suns named MAC Player of the Week this year and his play against Richland also earned him an NJCAA DIII National Position Player of the Week award as an outfielder. Rogers led the Suns in home runs this year with five and was in the top three of multiple categories for CVC including hits (67), RBIs (47), runs (45), doubles (14), and batting average (.374).
 
Jamison Totten had a hot bat this year posting 51 hits, 32 runs, 19 RBIs, five doubles, three stolen bases and a batting average of .354. During the month of April, Totten boasted an 11 game hit streak, where he had at least two hits in eight of the outings.
 
On his way to honorable mention recognition, Grant Moore had 47 hits, 47 runs, 31 RBIs, seven doubles, four home runs with a .346 batting average in his first season as a Sun.
