CVC Baseball's Daniel Quintanilla was named to the NJCAA Division III All-American Third Team as a designated hitter, as announced by the NJCAA Division III Baseball Committee.

During his sophomore year, Quintanilla registered a .412 batting average, .570 slugging percentage, and a .517 on-base percentage. The Garland native finished the 2018 season with 68 hits, 53 RBIs (17th in NJCAA), 47 runs, 15 doubles, three home runs, and was walked 34 times this season (8th most in the NJCAA).

Suns Head Coach, Robert Dally had shining words for his two-time All-Metro Athletic Conference and NJCAA Region V selection, "Coaching Daniel the past two seasons was engaging. He played for the team and performed well, especially in crucial game situations. Daniel will be well missed next season. I am very proud of him and his accomplishments on and off the field."

Quintanilla will be continuing his education and baseball career at the University of Mary (SD) this coming fall.
