The CVC Suns Baseball Team earned their first doubleheader sweep of the season after defeating the LeTourneau Yellowjackets (JV) on Wednesday afternoon. The Suns improved their record to 3-2.
In game one, CVC jumped out to an 11-4 lead after four innings to earn a dominant 13-4 victory. Isaia Diermier had a team-high four runs, while Chandler Boyd went 4-5 from the plate. Five different Suns had at least two RBIs and Leo Aguilar hit a home run. Noah Lynch (1-0) pitched a complete game tossing eight strikeouts allowing only five hits in the victory.
In game two's 8-2 win over LeTourneau, Jose Castillo and Dakota More each had two runs for the Suns, with Castillo and Seth-Oz Inocencio both adding a team-high two RBIs. Castillo also hit a home run with Jesus Fraga earning the win on the mound.
The Suns return to action this Saturday when they face Tyler in a doubleheader.
