Baseball Splits at No. 2 Tyler

The CVC Suns Baseball Team split in their weekend series doubleheader against the No. 2 Tyler Apaches. CVC took down Tyler in game one, 4-2 before falling to the Apaches, 6-4 in game two.

In the game one victory, Cedar Valley built an early 4-0 lead led by Chandler Boyd, who went 2-3 at the plate, registering a game-high two runs and two doubles. Jose Castillo and Ben Cross each had an RBI and Ryan Ratliff earned the win from the mound with three strikeouts, while Ryan Foley was awarded the save with a strikeout.

Game two saw CVC unable to rally to complete the sweep. Four different Suns crossed home plate including Billy Rogers who went 3-4 at bat.

Next up, the Suns will begin Dallas Athletic Conference action in a series against Richland.
