The CVC Baseball Team earned their 24th and 25th wins of the season after sweeping Southwest Collegiate Prep in a doubleheader on Monday afternoon. Cedar Valley has now won eight of their last nine games.
In game one, the Suns allowed only one run in their 11-1 victory. Jacob Rothenberg collected the win from the mound tossing five strikeouts in three innings pitched allowing only three hits. Jose Castillo and Billy Rogers each posted three runs, with Rogers, Hugo Garcia-Gaytan, and Ryan Ratliff registering three RBIs each. Ratliff and Rogers both hit home runs.
Game two was a shootout with the Suns outlasting SWC, 12-11. Castillo went four for five at the plate logging four runs, three RBIs, and a home run. Jesus Fraga earned the win from the mound.
CVC returns to Dallas Athletic Conference action on Wednesday when they travel to No. 9 North Lake.
