Charles Bass and Chandler Boyd Commit to UT-Dallas

The CVC Athletic Department is proud to announce that Charles Bass and Chandler Boyd have committed to further their education and baseball careers at the University of Texas at Dallas.

In two seasons with Cedar Valley, Bass had 29 appearances on the mound with 43.2 innings pitched, registering 47 strikeouts with a win-loss record of 3-1 and two saves. The Timpson native earned NJCAA Academic All-American honors in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019.

Boyd finished his sophomore season at CVC with 55 runs, 37 RBIs, 18 doubles (14th NJCAA), six stolen bases, two triples, and a home run. The infielder was named to the All-NJCAA Region V and All-Dallas Athletic Conference First Teams and registered averages of .353 (hitting), .432 (on-base percentage), and .484 (slugging) in spring 2019.

Bass and Boyd are the second and third Sun to sign with UT-D this year joining Blake Birdwell.

The University of Texas at Dallas is a four-year institution in Richardson, Texas, that competes in the American Southwest Conference and is NCAA Division III sanctioned.
