Fresh Season, Fresh Start

     It was the very first game of the baseball season for the Suns of Cedar Valley College. Indeed- it's safe to say that they were a bit rusty. On top of that, the weather was terrible- windy and rainy. Still, the Suns made their way to Hill College, driving over an hour to make their first game of the season. Located in Hillsboro, TX, the Suns had to travel over 60 miles south to play against the Rebels.

     They certainly made it worth while, by playing a really good game. A close one, right up to the end the score was at 4-3 by the start of the 7th inning. Yet, somehow the Suns lost it 6-3. Anyway, it's a fresh season and the Sun's have got a fresh start with plenty of time to make up for such a small loss.

Batting Highlights:

Ben Cross & Jose Castillo both had 2 hits each; Castillo with a double

Ean Von Wald & Justin Perez both had an RBI

Pitching Highlights:

Cameron Hoff pitched 4 scoreless innings with 2 strikeouts

Zach Bailey pitched 1.2 scoreless innings
