Sabala Named DAC Player of Week

Dallas College Cedar Valley's Antonio Sabala was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

A sophomore left hander from Spring, Texas, Sabala tossed a complete game, striking out a career-high 14 batters, while scattering five hits, allowing one run and two walks in a 5-1 win at Arlington Baptist University. The seven-inning complete game effort was his second appearance of the season.

Sabala is 1-0 with a 2.25 earned run average in eight innings on the mound this season.

As a hitter, Sabala batted .364 with a double, six RBI, a walk and four runs scored in three games as a right fielder and designated hitter.  

Cedar Valley (16-7) will play at Hill College Monday. The Suns resume DAC action noon Wednesday when they host Dallas College Richland to begin a three-game series.
