Robertson Named DIII National Player of Week

Dallas College Cedar Valley's Caden Robertson was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Player of the Week.

A sophomore outfielder from Magnolia, Texas, Robertson batted .526 with three home runs, three doubles, 13 runs batted in, five runs scored, three stolen bases and two walks. He was 10-for-19 at the plate in a week the Suns went 4-1, highlighted by a three-game sweep of Dallas College Brookhaven.

Robertson hit two home runs in the series finale – his second a two-run blast in the bottom of the eighth to lift Cedar Valley to a 6-5 win. He had two hits in two of the five games last week, and three hits in two others.

A product of Magnolia West High School who transferred from Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas, Robertson is hitting .464 with 11 home runs, 10 doubles, four triples, 51 RBI, 47 runs scored and 16 stolen bases this season.

Cedar Valley (23-11, 9-6 Dallas Athletic Conference) opens a three-game series to begin the second half of league play 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dallas College North Lake.
