Sabala Named DAC Offensive Player of Week

Dallas College Cedar Valley's Antonio Sabala has been named the Dallas Athletic Conference Baseball Offensive Player of the Week.

A sophomore outfielder from Spring, Texas, Sabala batted .722 (13-for-18) with three doubles, three runs batted in, seven runs scored, eight walks, a stolen base and an .808 on-base percentage from the leadoff spot as the Suns went 4-1 last week. He was 10-for-13 in a three-game series with Dallas College Mountain View, going 4-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a walk and a run scored Saturday. Sabala had at least three hits in each of the DAC series contests, and hit safely in all five games during the week.

Sabala is batting .409 with 12 doubles, four triples, a home run, 31 RBI, 50 runs scored and 12 stolen bases this season.

Cedar Valley (29-13, 13-8 DAC) will play a doubleheader against Southwestern Assemblies of God University Junior Varsity Monday. The Suns begin a three-game league series with Dallas College Eastfield on the road Wednesday.
