Cedar Valley Stymies Eastfield for Series Victory

LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley beat No. 2 nationally-ranked Dallas College Eastfield for the second consecutive day Thursday. The Suns run-ruled the Harvester Bees, 15-3, in eight innings.

The win secured Cedar Valley of its second Dallas Athletic Conference series victory of the year. The Suns have scored 32 runs in the first two games of the series.

Cedar Valley (22-20, 6-14 DAC) scored eight runs in the third inning, and responded to Eastfield's 3-spot in the top of the fourth with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning and six more over the final two innings to reach the 10-run advantage threshold to put the game away.

Hayden Carpenter blasted two bombs, including a grand slam and a walk-off three-run blast in the eighth to lift the Suns to their fourth straight win. It was his second slam of the season, and his ninth homer of the year.

Game 3 of the series is set for 12 p.m. Friday at Cedar Valley.
