Dally Captures 400th Win with Suns

LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley 17-year head baseball coach Robert Dally won his 400th game this week.

Dally, who took over the program in 2007, beat Southwestern Assemblies of God University in the second game of a doubleheader sweep, 3-2, Monday to capture the milestone win.

"I'm getting old," Dally joked, shrugging off the 400th victory accomplishment talk.

Dally's team won a program-best 38 games last season, advancing to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District semifinals. His 2017 team won 37 games. His teams have won over 25 games the last three years, what with this season's 27 victory total thanks to a 5-0 week, which included Friday's completion of a three-game sweep of Dallas College Mountain View.

This year, his ball club has reeled off nine wins in its past seven games to position themselves in the talk for third place in the Dallas Athletic Conference. The Suns are two games behind Dallas College Brookhaven – this week's three-game series opponent – and Dallas College North Lake for the third spot in the league.

"I'm just trying to push the right buttons," Dally said. "I'm a competitor. I don't like to lose."
