Cedar Valley Baseball Opens Season Jan. 30
LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's baseball team will open the season Jan. 30 at Hill College.
The Suns, under longtime coach Robert Dally, will play 19 home games, with the home-opening weekend set for Feb. 20-21 against Redlands Community College in a pair of doubleheaders. The four-game Redlands series is the only nonconference home games on the schedule.
Cedar Valley will meet North Central Texas College on the road in a twin bill Feb. 14 and a single game March 23. The Suns also play at Hill College March 9 and at Paris Junior College March 30.
The Suns begin Dallas Athletic Conference play Feb. 25 at home against Dallas College Eastfield. They finish the first league series Feb. 27-28 in Mesquite. The Suns host Dallas College North Lake for two games March 6-7 to end the second DAC series. They host Dallas College Richland March 11 before finishing the series with the last two games on the road.
Following a pair of doubleheaders at Arlington Baptist University Junior Varsity March 16-17 during Spring Break, the Suns finish their season series at NCTC before resuming conference action at Dallas College Brookhaven March 25. They host the Bears March 27-28 to complete the series. They wrap up the first round of league play with a three-game series against Dallas College Mountain View April 1-3, with the first of those at home.
Following a doubleheader at Nelson University Junior Varsity April 6, the Suns begin the second half of conference play April 8 at Eastfield. They host the Harvester Bees April 10-11 for the final two games. Cedar Valley will host Richland for two games in the second round of league play April 24-25 and wrap up the regular season at home against Mountain View May 8-9.
The National Junior College Athletic Association Division III District Tournament is May 13-16.
