Midas800 to Compete for NJCAAe Championship Monday

Dallas College Cedar Valley's Khoi Nguyen beat Lakeland Community College, 3-1, in a best-of-5 series Tuesday night in the National Junior College Athletic Association eSports  EA FC 24 semifinals.

Midas800, the No. 1 national seed, will meet No. 2 Kingsborough Community College 6 p.m. Monday in the NJCAAe Tier 1 championship series.

Nguyen beat two-time defending FIFA champ Zaid Gutierrez of Dallas College North Lake, 3-2, to open the playoffs. Midas800 won the fall's NJCAAe Tier 3 FIFA title before transitioning to FC Tier 1 competition in the spring.
