Cedar Valley Takes Season Series from Mountain View

LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley men's basketball team beat Dallas College Mountain View, 108-87, Wednesday night in the penultimate game of the second round of league play.

The Suns (8-13, 2-7 Dallas Athletic Conference) scored over 100 points for the third time this season, including a pair of victories over Mountain View (10-14, 3-6).

Coreon Hardy scored 21 points on 8 of 13 shooting, including 4 of 7 from three-point range, and Marcel Hurst had 17 points, going 8 of 12 from the floor, grabbed eight rebounds, and picked up three steals. Kendall Mitchell added 13 points and four assists in 18 minutes.

Josh Beall had 14 points, six rebounds, two steals and a block. He was the lone starter in double figures. Chris Greenwood and Chris Vela each had nine points, and Armani Reese eight points, 11 boards, seven blocks and two steals.

The Suns, who clinched the season series with the Lions, hit 9 of 15 threes, and went 17-for-20 at the free throw line.

Augustine Chibuko had 19 points, 15 boards and five blocks for the Lions, who shot 46 percent from the field, but just 15 percent from the 3-point arc. Ashton Price added 16 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals.

Cedar Valley led by 12 at the half.

The Suns finish the second round of conference play at Dallas College Eastfield (5-16, 4-5) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
