FORT WORTH, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley men's soccer team won its third straight game to open the season.
It marks the first time in program history Cedar Valley has won its first three games in a season.
The Suns beat Arlington Baptist University for the second time this year – this time a 2-0 win at Gateway Park Tuesday. It was the second straight shutout for the Suns.
Jesus Abeja scored in the 20th minute on an assist from Adrian Beltran to give Cedar Valley a 1-0 lead. Mauricio Gutierrez banged home a winner in the 34th minute to make it a two-goal game. Beltran drew another assist on Gutierrez's goal.
Seven minutes into the second half, Sergio Molina cracked a shot off the post. Molina had three of the Suns' eight shots on goal.
The Suns finished with 15 shots, including 10 in the second half.
Cedar Valley goalkeeper Hector Perales (3-0-0) made four saves in the win. It was his second clean sheet of the season.
The Suns host Nelson University 10 a.m. Saturday.
