Bio

Atanas (Nasko) Arsov was named head men's soccer coach at Dallas College Cedar Valley in June 2015. 

In 2022, Arsov guided the Suns to a No. 5 national ranking in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll. Cedar Valley went 9-4-2, building a season six-game win streak. It was the best season since the program restarted in May 2018. Arsov was instrumental in developing the Dallas Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, four First Team and five Second Team All-DAC Team recipients. He also coached First Team All-American Farouk Abdulsalam.

In 2021, the Suns went 5-3. Cedar Valley won back-to-back games on two occasions in that season. Carlos Vasquez earned NJCAA DIII Second Team All-America honors, and was named the DAC Goalkeeper of the Year. He made a school season record 64 saves. Arsov coached three First Team and four Second Team All-DAC recipients.

Arsov led Cedar Valley to a record of 5-5 in 2018 after nearly a decade absence of the soccer program, and a year later, the Suns put together a record of 8-6.

In 2022, while coaching Texas United FC, his team captured the Mid-South Division championship, going 9-0-5. His team was one of four clubs nationwide that went undefeated from a pool of 113 USL2 teams. 

Arsov came to Cedar Valley with nearly two decades worth of experience, coaching both men and women at the college level, with stops at Northwood University, Hill College and Dallas College Brookhaven. As head men's soccer coach at Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas, he guided his team to the top four in the Red River Athletic Conference in 2012 and Sooner Athletic Conference in 2013. From 2000-11, he served as the head women's soccer coach, and from 2006-11, he was also the head men's soccer coach at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas, where he re-established both programs. In 2008, his women's team won the Region V Conference championship, and he was awarded the National Junior College Athletic Association's Region V Coach of the Year. When he left, the women's team had a 113-62-18 record. His men's team won a Region V regular season title in 2010.

From 2000-15, Arsov served as the head boys and girls soccer coach with FC Dallas, ASG and Andromeda FC. He won numerous league championships and tournaments, developed and promoted the teams to higher divisions, and helped many players sign letters of intent to different colleges. He was also the USSF Development Academy head soccer Coach for U14 with Andromeda FC in the 2014-15 season. Additionally, Andromeda FC appointed him USSF DA head soccer coach for U16 and U18 teams in the spring of 2015.

In 2018, Arsov was an assistant coach for Texas United FC – USL 2, and in 2019, he was an assistant coach for Dallas City FC - NPSL before being appointed head coach midway through the season. In 2021, Arsov was an associate coach for Texas United FC - USL 2, which made its first playoff appearance. 

Before his coaching career began, he played professionally for 12 years in the Bulgarian Football Professional League, where he capped 325 matches, and scored 82 goals. His professional career continued in the United States as he played for the Eastern Indoor Soccer League in Mississippi, where he registered 21 points in 20 matches.

Arsov holds a Master of Science degree from The National Sports Academy University in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he also received his Bachelor of Science degree for football coach and physical education. He completed the one-year post-graduate program in high-performance football coaching in Lisbon, Portugal, and holds a United States Soccer Federation "A" license and Union of European Football Associations "B" license.
