Yeldell Collects Second Conference Player of Week Honor
Dallas College Cedar Valley's Shandrea Yeldell was selected as this week's Dallas Athletic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week.
This marks the second time this season she has received the league's weekly honor.
A sophomore point guard from Lancaster, Texas, Yeldell scored 32 points on 13 of 22 shooting, and had five steals and three rebounds in an 81-77 loss to the University of Arkansas Cossatot Tuesday. She was 3 of 7 from three-point range, and 3-for-5 from the free throw line.
Her 32 points marked a season high. It was the 10th straight game she's scored in double figures, and the fifth time she's reached 20 or more points.
Yeldell is averaging 18.5 points, 3.8 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.4 steals per game, while shooting 51 percent from the field.
Cedar Valley (8-3) will play at Dallas College Richland 6 p.m. Thursday to open Dallas Athletic Conference play.
