Valle Named Conference Player of Week

Cedar Valley's Kate Valle

Dallas College Cedar Valley's Kate Valle was named the Dallas Athletic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week.

A freshman guard/forward from Frisco, Texas, Valle scored 18 points, and had five rebounds, five steals and a block in a 75-74 overtime win over Dallas College Mountain View last week. Valle shot 5 of 9 from the field, and hit two of four three-point baskets. She was 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Valle is averaging 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game.

Cedar Valley improved to 10-3 overall, 2-0 in the DAC.

The Suns are in the midst of a five-game homestand. Cedar Valley, ranked No. 7 in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll, hosts Southwestern Assemblies of God University Junior Varsity next Monday and Tuesday at 6 p.m.
