IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Mia Thomas was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

A 5-foot-7 guard from Houston, Thomas averaged 20 points on 18 of 41 field goals, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game as the Suns went 1-2 last week. She was 12 of 35 from three-point range and 12 of 16 from the free throw line, and added four assists during the week.

Thomas scored 20 points on 6 of 13 shooting, including a 5-for-5 performance from the stripe in a 69-64 loss to National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Panola College at Trinity Valley Community College's Cardinal Classic Friday. She scored 26 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and had two steals in a 69-49 victory over Southwestern Christian College for the NJCAA Division III No. 9 Suns. Thomas finished the week with 14 points and two steals in a 94-55 loss to Hill College at the Cardinal Classic.

Cedar Valley (4-4) will host Dallas Christian College (0-4) Thursday before meeting Dallas College Richland (2-4) on the road in a nonconference game Saturday.
