Hat Tricks by Gauna and Higgs Push Lady Suns Past SWAU, 8-0

The CVC Lady Suns Soccer Team were victorious in their 8-0 rout of Southwestern Adventist University. Mia Gauna and Ardazal Higgs each had three goals in the win.

Mia Gauna earned the first hat trick of the night with three goals in the first half of play, giving CVC a 3-0 lead heading into intermission. Assisting Gauna in the goals were Marissa Garza (7th minute), Stephany Gonzalez (15th minute), and Victoria Reyes (18th minute).

To open the second half, Ardazal Higgs also scored three consecutive goals for a second hat trick of the night for the Lady Suns, giving CVC a 6-0 advantage. Higgs was assisted by Anahiza Briones (52nd minute), Daniela Garcia (54th minute), and Karina Jaramillo (60th minute).

Gonzalez and Madison Houle scored the final two goals unassisted for the Lady Suns, while goal keeper Michelle Lopez garnered five saves.

CVC returns to Metro Athletic Conference action on Friday when they travel to face Brookhaven.
