Lady Suns Clash with Brookhaven in Season Home Finale
The CVC Lady Suns Soccer Team will play their season home finale this Tuesday at 4:00 pm against the Brookhaven Bears. This will be the final home game for CVC sophomores Anahiza Briones, Jasmine Davis, Daniela Garcia, Juana Gonzalez, Heidi Martinez, and Sol Rico.
The Lady Suns will be looking to shake off a recent 5-0 defeat against Eastfield College.
*Shining Sophomores*
Anahiza Briones - Wilmer, TX
During her career at CVC, Briones has competed in over 20 games at defender, registering career totals of two assists and two points.
Jasmine Davis - Mesquite, TX
Davis made an impact for the Lady Suns programs as soon as she stepped on the field. In her freshman campaign, she was an All-Metro Athletic Conference/Region V Second Team selection and led the team with five goals.
Daniela Garcia - Dallas, TX
Garcia was an All-Metro Athletic Conference/Region V Honorable Mention selection in her freshman season due to her stellar defense. She has competed and started in every game of her Cedar Valley career.
Juana Gonzalez - Irving, TX
Gonzalez has been a captain for the Lady Suns with her imposing defense being very vital. In her freshman season she started every game and registered a goal, while this season, she has continued to roam the midfield.
Heidi Martinez - Cedar Hill, TX
Martinez has been the epitome of a student-athlete for the Lady Suns not only being a core piece to the CVC rotation, but also a NJCAA All-Academic Third Team selection in 2016. This season she has scored one goal for the Lady Suns.
Sol Rico - Dallas, TX
Rico has been a member of the Lady Suns program since 2015 and has earned All-Metro Athletic Conference/Region V First Team honors for her standout play in the midfield. This season she has bounced back from injury to inspire the CVC squad.
