Puente Named DAC Player of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Briana Puente was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

A sophomore forward from Hope, Arkansas, Puente scored a goal in each of Cedar Valley's two wins last week. She also had an assist in the Suns' 4-1 victory over National Park College for a total of five points in the two games.

Puente has three goals and four assists this season for 10 points, which ranks second on the team.

The Suns, who are receiving votes in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings, improved to 4-1, including a 3-1 record at home.

Cedar Valley hosts Dallas College Richland 4 p.m. Friday in the DAC opener.
