Suns Win Third Straight, Shut Out Lions

LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's women's soccer team won its third straight game, beating Dallas College Mountain View, 3-0, Tuesday in the first of back-to-back home games this week.

The Suns, who improved to 7-2-0 overall, 3-1-0 in the Dallas Athletic Conference, have shut out their last three opponents, while outscoring those teams, 8-0. The seven wins matches the most since Cedar Valley went 7-6-3 in 2013.

The school record is 20 wins in 2005.

Victoria Hernandez scored the gamewinning goal in the 19th minute on an assist from Lilianna Tapia. The Suns picked up second half goals from Eva Zamudio and Tapia, who put a ball from Makayla Mohair in the back of the net.

Cedar Valley outshot Mountain View, 18-6. Suns starting goalkeeper Princess Morales made two saves, while Lawson McConnell, who played the second half, stopped one.

The Suns host two-time defending national champion Dallas College Brookhaven 4 p.m. Friday.
