Anthony, Tapia Collect First Team All-DAC Honors, 4 Others Second Team

DALLAS – Dallas College Cedar Valley women's soccer players Tenilee Anthony and Lilianna Tapia earned First Team All-Dallas Athletic Conference honors, while teammates Briana Puente, Makayla Mohair, Shakira Williams and Eva Zamudio were second team selections.

Anthony, a freshman defender from Kemp, Texas, scored two goals, including a game winner, in helping the Suns, who received votes in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings, finish third in the DAC. She scored both of her goals against Arlington Baptist University. Anthony also helped fortify a back line that authored six shutouts.

Tapia, a forward from Hutchins, Texas, scored six goals, and had three assists for 15 points. She had the gamewinning goal in a 2-0 win at Dallas College Eastfield Sept. 22.

A native of Hope, Arkansas, Puente led the Suns with six goals and six assists for 18 points. The sophomore forward who was named NJCAA Division III Offensive Player of the Week Oct. 18, netted the game winning goal in a 1-0 shutout at Dallas College Mountain View after scoring and assisting on the game winner in the second game against Eastfield three days earlier.

Mohair, a sophomore midfielder from Denton, Texas, finished the season with four goals and four assists for 12 points. She scored the gamewinning goal in the season-opening 4-0 win at Trinity Valley Community College.

Williams, a sophomore forward from San Antonio, had six goals and five assists for 17 points. Her two gamewinning goals were tied for the most on the team. She had two goals, including her second game winner, and an assist in the 4-2 NJCAA Division III South District quarterfinal win over Mountain View.

Zamudio, a sophomore midfielder from Huntsville, Texas, notched three goals and an assist for seven points. She had the gamewinning goal in a 3-0 victory at Dallas College North Lake.
