Hernandez Named National Player of Week

NJCAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Victoria Hernandez was selected as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Player of the Week.

A sophomore forward from Ennis, Texas, Hernandez scored in both of Cedar Valley's wins last week, notching the game winner in the 2-1 victory at then-No. 9 Dallas College Richland to open the conference season. She also had a goal in the 2-0 win at Arlington Baptist University earlier in the week.

Hernandez leads the Suns with three goals, and is tied for the team lead in points with seven.

Cedar Valley (3-1-1, 1-0-1 Dallas Athletic Conference) will host Dallas College Eastfield (3-5-0, 1-1-0) at 4 p.m. Friday.
