Aldana Named DAC Goalkeeper of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Serena Aldana was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.

A freshman from Dallas, Aldana combined with teammate Olivia Reyna to post back-to-back shutouts last week as the No. 9-ranked Suns tied No. 2 Dallas College Brookhaven 0-0 and beat Dallas College Eastfield, 1-0. Aldana made 10 saves in the two games.

Aldana stopped nine shots in the scoreless draw with Brookhaven, spending one half in goal. She had one save in her 45 minutes between the posts in the win over Eastfield.

Aldana and Reyna have combined for four shutouts this season.

Aldana has a 0.33 goals against average, which ranks fourth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III. Her .957 saves percentage is third in the country, and her one goal allowed this season is tied for third.

Cedar Valley (4-1-1, 2-0-1 DAC) plays at Dallas College North Lake (3-3-2, 1-1-1) Tuesday at 4 p.m.
