Aldana Selected NJCAA DIII Goalie of Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Cedar Valley's women's soccer's Serena Aldana was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Goalie of the Week.

A freshman from Dallas, Aldana had a hand in two shutouts last week, along with teammate Olivia Reyna. Then-No. 9 Cedar Valley held No. 2 Dallas College Brookhaven to a scoreless draw as Aldana stopped nine shots. She made one save in the 1-0 win of Dallas College Eastfield.

Aldana, who alternates halves with Reyna, has combined for four clean sheets this season. Following Tuesday's 3-2 win at Dallas College North Lake, Aldana (3-1-0) has a 0.57 goals against average and .920 saves percentage.

Now ranked eighth in the country, Cedar Valley (5-1-1, 3-0-1 Dallas Athletic Conference) will host Dallas College Mountain View (0-5-0, 0-4-0) at 4 p.m. Friday to complete the first round of league play.
