Cedar Valley Duo Sweeps DAC Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Cedar Valley's Karina Rivera and Olivia Reyna were named the Dallas Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Players of the Week. Rivera earned the league's Offensive Player honor, while Reyna collected the Goalkeeper of the Week. 

A sophomore midfielder from Dallas, Rivera scored twice in the Suns' 4-0 win over Randall University. She scored the first goal to set the tone, notching the gamewinner on an unassisted strike. 

It was Rivera's first two goals of the season. 

A sophomore goalkeeper from Houston, Reyna stopped five shots in the shutout. She picked up her first clean sheet of the season.  

Reyna improved to 1-0-1 this year. 

Cedar Valley (1-0-1) will play at the University of Arkansas Cossatot Saturday in the final nonconference game of the season.
