Five Lady Suns Receive All-MAC and All-Region V Honors

The Cedar Valley Lady Suns Volleyball Team had five players receive All-Metro Athletic Conference honors, announced by the conference office this week. Freshmen Morgan Mauk (Normangee, TX) and Stella Ramirez (San Antonio,TX) were named to the All-MAC and All-Region V Second Team, while freshmen Kosi Okeke (Carrollton, TX), Maricruz Rivas (Fort Worth, TX), and Tori Valle (San Antonio, TX) received All-MAC Honorable Mentions.

At the defensive specialist position, Morgan Mauk was selected to the All-MAC and All-Region V Second Team after leading the Lady Suns in digs with 258 (2.48 per set), along with registering 178 kills for second best on the team, as well as being the only member of the team to play in all 33 matches.

Stella Ramirez also gained an All-MAC and All-Region V Second Team selection, registering 271 assists (3.39 per set) for Cedar Valley as well as 85 kills from the setter position.

Of the trio receiving All-MAC Honorable Mention, Kosi Okeke was second in blocks for the Lady Suns with 27, Maricruz Rivas led the team with 354 assists (3.61 per set), and Tori Valle turning in 108 digs.
