Pierce Named DAC Player of the Week

Dallas College Cedar Valley setter Kalaya Pierce was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Dallas College Cedar Valley's Kalaya Pierce was named the Dallas Athletic Conference volleyball Player of the Week.

Pierce, a sophomore setter from Lindale, Texas, had 146 assists, 12 kills, three aces, eight blocks and 41 digs as the Suns went 2-0 in conference play and 2-2 overall last week. She had 41 assists in both of the Suns' DAC four-set wins. She had a season-high seven kills, and hit .583 in the four-set win at Dallas College Eastfield. She hit .400 in a win over Dallas College North Lake.

Pierce leads the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III in assists with 741. 

Cedar Valley will host Dallas College Richland 6 p.m. Thursday on Pink Out Night.
