Volleyball Pulls Out Win Against Pratt at DAC Fall Tourney

The CVC Lady Suns Volleyball Team were able to gather a win against Pratt CC during the Dallas Athletic Conference Fall Tournament before falling to Seminole State, Ranger, and Ottawa University (JV) in pool play. Jasmine Davis had a double-double with 13 kills and 21 digs in the victory.

In the thrilling five-set win over Pratt (26-24,25-21,22-25,15-25,16-14), Samantha Hernandez had 33 assists and 20 digs with three other Lady Suns compiling double-digit digs (Mallorie Brooks - 34, Janessa Figueroa - 18, Amaya Saenz - 14).

Closing out day one of the DAC Fall Tourney, CVC was defeated in straight sets by Seminole State (12-25,15-25,16-25). Davis led the team in kills again with 10, while Hernandez turned in another double-double with 21 assists and 10 digs. Brooks had 12 digs.

Cedar Valley suffered another straight-set loss at the hands of Ranger (22-25,12-25,20-25) to open day two of action. Timeisha Jones had six kills and Hernandez had 14 assists. Brooks and Figueroa had 17 and 12 digs, respectively.

Wrapping up pool play, the Lady Suns were defeated in four sets by Ottawa (21-25,27-25,11-25,25-27). Davis had a team-high eight kills with Hernandez dishing out 27 assists. Six players had double-digit digs for CVC (Brooks - 25, Saenz - 18, Figueroa - 17, Davis - 13, Kayla Lansford - 12, Hernandez - 11).
